1st MENTOR school in Tübingen

We are happy to share an exciting milestone: the 1st MENTOR School – An Introduction to Drug Discovery!

The MENTOR specialized schools held each year are designed to strengthen the multi-disciplinary knowledge and skills our hashtag#MSCA doctoral candidates need to successfully carry out their research projects. The 1st edition brought young scientists to the beautiful city of Tübingen, Germany.

The program opened with two days co-organized with the German Chemical Society (GDCh) MedChemCampus, bringing together MENTOR doctoral candidates and the wider drug discovery community.

Participants benefited from an excellent program of lectures and interactive workshops delivered by experts from both academia and industry. Topics included preclinical and clinical development of drug candidates, target validation and chemical probes, and the role of structural biology in drug discovery.

Beyond the scientific program, the participants also experienced a highlight of local culture: punting on the Neckar, a tradition for first-time visitors to Tübingen, and a guided tour.
