Floor Jansen
Biographical sketch:
Floor Jansen is an Associate Professor in Pediatric Neurology at the University Medical Center Brain Center, Utrecht, the Netherlands. She combines clinical care with teaching and a variety of research projects, focussed on rare and complex epilepsies including tuberous sclerosis (TSC), epileptic encephalopathy with spike wave activation in sleep (EE-SWAS), genetic epilepsy and epilepsy surgery. She coordinate the national TSC center of excellence. She has been de principal investigator of a number of international and national clinical trials in rare epilepsies and has a longstanding collaboration with international researchers on this topic.
SGe supervised 5 PhD students who already successfully finished a PhD and currently supervises 7 PhD students with their various projects on rare and complex epilepsies. She has authored/co-authored over 150 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
She is co-leading the work group of targeted treatment and clinical trials of ERN EpiCare. She is co-leading the epilepsy working group of the European Pediatric Neurology Society . She was a member of the ILAE Seizure Subtype Committee of Classification (2017) and its update (2024).
