Dennis Gillingham

Biographical sketch:

Dennis studied Chemistry at the Memorial University of Newfoundland in St. John’s, Canada, and subsequently got his PhD from the Boston College with Prof. Amir Hoveyda. In 2007, he joined the group of Prof. Donald Hilvert at the ETH Zurich as a Marie-Curie fellow. He began his independent work at the University of Basel in 2010 and was promoted to full professor in 2024. His worked focusses on new methods for targeting disease-driving proteins and novel approaches toward selecting small molecules with important functions. He has served as a biotech consultant, SAB member, and as a founder of spin-out ventures from the university.
