Save the date: menTOR Summer School 2027 in Madrid!

Join us at CNIO from June 8 to 10, 2027, for an intensive training week on mTOR signaling, disease mechanisms and preclinical models.

We are pleased to announce our upcoming Summer School, taking place in Madrid from June 8 to 10, 2027.
Hosted at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) and organized alongside Dr. Alejo Efeyan, this event will gather world-leading experts, PhD candidates, and postdoctoral researchers dedicated to advancing our understanding of the mTOR signaling pathway.

School’s highlights:

This multi-disciplinary Summer School will offer advanced insights into the field through a diverse scientific program, featuring:
• Advanced animal models: insights from unconventional organisms (naked mole-rats, African killifish, zebrafish, Drosophila) to highly creative mouse models for clonal evolution, nutrient signaling, cancer biology, metabolism and mTOR pathophysiology.
• Cutting-edge technologies: mouse genetics, genome engineering and CRISPR-based approaches targeting large genomic regions.
• Organoid workshop / Advanced 3D system to model human biology and disease: dedicated sessions covering 3D organoid platforms (colon, bone marrow niche, organs on a chip to explore cell fate and aberrant cell growth in mTORopathies with a special focus on kidney and brain.

Who should attend?

This training program is tailored for PhD students and postdoctoral fellows passionate about basic, preclinical and translational research on metabolism and complex diseases.
